- Scope of Work:
The purpose of this training is to develop and deliver context relevant training and mentoring package to health system managers that will provide technical assistance to District Department of Health (DoH) for planning, measurement of quantitative outcomes, budgeting and forecasting of annual development plans. Improved planning in district health systems will strengthen technical and allocative efficiency as well as fortify action priority matrix for improving performance of the district health performance indicators. The training is specifically required for provincial and district health managers. This training is a key deliverable of project entitled, ‘Access to Quality Care through Extending and Strengthening Health Systems (AQCESS)’ funded by Global Affairs Canada and Aga Khan Foundation Canada.
- Key deliverables:
Consultant is expected to accomplish following tasks
1. Discussion with project team and management to understand requirements of the training and identification of course contents
2. Develop curriculum and detailed agenda of the meeting
3. Deliver training to the health managers on district health system strengthening
4. Assign and agree on the action plans with provincial and district and health managers
5. Evaluate trainings with pre and post test
6. Share final competition report
- Timeline & Venue
The course of action will be executed under agreed timelines and designated venue at provincial level, this includes;
A consultant will be engaged for seven days to design, deliver and share technical completion report of the training. Venue of the training will be communicated later.
- Key Requirements of the Assignment
· PHD or master’s degree in health, public health, international health, health economics, or health policy or other related field relevant to the above mentioned scope of work.
· At least 7 years of proven experience of work directly related to HSS in positions of progressively increasing seniority.
· Ability to demonstrate in depth understanding and analytical capacity across issues related to health system strengthening, with a focus on decentralized, evidence-based planning, prioritization and monitoring.
· Experience working with the national and district local governments in Pakistan, and a strong understanding of District’s health system.
· Previous working experience with AKDN and specifically working experience with AKHSP will be an asset.
· Proven skills in communication, networking, strategic thinking, advocacy
· Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and execute ideas as well as to transfer knowledge and skills.
· Proven interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact professionally with diverse institutions and partners. Willingness to travel and work in remote and sometimes insecure locations
· Fluency in written and verbal English
