| Job Description: |
- The Literacy & Numeracy Teachers are responsible for teaching adults/adolescents/drop-outs how to read and write using lessons plans, real-life contextual learning experiences, and technology.
- She/he prepares and presents lessons on the alphabet, sentence construction, grammar, vocabulary, numbers, reading strategies and more.
- She/he utilizes various instructional methods, including tactile, visual, and aural learning preferences.
- The Literacy and Numeracy teachers test their learners’ abilities formally and informally throughout the course and evaluate student progress and modify lesson plans and learning goals based on what’s working and what’s not.
- She/he provides instruction in basic numeracy and mathematics while helping learners develops their critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- She/he works with Refugees Outreach workers (ROVs) and Leader of Host Community to maximize their learners’ involvement in the adult literacy and the development of resources for it.
