Job Description:

Position Summary:Manager Communications will support the AGES project public communications to further project’s goals; document the project stories and achievements; and support the development of a comprehensive package of communication materials, such as thoughtfully put together success stories and press release templates, banners, information packages, content for brochures, and project summaries among others. This position will work closely with the Director of Communications, AGES program’s technical staff and the AGES M&E team.

Key responsibilities (includes but not limited to):• Support the Communications Director on implementing assigned aspects of the AGES communications plan.• Support AGES team on all project events, at the national and provincial levels through coordination with guests, event planners/consultants, designers as required. Coordinate, review and edit select project documents e.g. bi-monthly USAID project updates, quarterly and annual progress reports, consolidating partner reports, and ensuring quality assurance on general communications with government stakeholders etc; to ensure that the language, form and format of these documents conform to the highest professional standards in consistent presentation and writing.• Oversee communications of program activities to various stakeholders and donors through the dissemination of information, drafting press advisories, press releases, coordinating and conducting interviews, monitoring media coverage, responding to journalists’ inquiries and media requests in close collaboration with the program management.• Gather success stories for the development of documentaries and project reports• Ensure that all produced materials adhere to the approved AGES Branding and Marking Plan.• Coordinate the production of different promotional materials e.g., newsletters, event briefs, press releases, banners, and signage in close coordination with program staff.• Develop and conduct short training courses in report writing for preparing comprehensive and concise human angle/ success stories for USAID consumption.• Monitor Social Media and use it as a contemporary tool for greater program outreach. Ensure the quality implementation and dissemination of AGES’ planned, bi-annual social media advocacy campaigns with a wide group of partners.• Ensure wide coverage of program interventions and related activities in both the print as well as the electronic media, and the ability to network with platforms and fora where AGES’ activities can garner wider coverage (e.g., universities, government communications, private and NGO partners).• Ensure timely sharing of communications related programmatic deliverables to USAID.• Perform any other tasks assigned by the program management.

Qualifications:• A minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, public relations, social sciences, international relations, or related field;• At least five years of experience in the development and implementation of increasing awareness of a service or a product among Pakistani audiences required. While minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in communications with USAID, UKAID and/or other donor funded projects is essential;• Team player, able to work respectfully and cooperatively with colleagues or different national and cultural backgrounds; • Strong communication skills and experience working across a variety of media required. • Experience in working on outreach and recruitment activities of a similar scope and scale necessary. • First-hand knowledge of the local media, Pakistani advertising market, as well as the principles of public relations required.• Proficiency with website content management and the use of social media required.• Familiarity with graphic design, printing and publishing processes required.• General understanding of procurement processes necessary.• A broad understanding of issues related to international development and gender required.• Ability to speak and write fluently in English and Urdu required
