Job Description:

General Objectives:

To nurse the patients in ER after the triage and doctors medical examination and consultation; Carry out the medical orders, take and record vital signs and keep Team leader and nurse supervisor informed of any improvement or deterioration in patient through regular observation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Initial assessment of patient: Evaluate the patient upon arrival, listen to the complaints and observe the patient.                                                           
  • Patient care: Follow up of every patient in ER and record properly the patient progress in the file of the patient and report to the doctor/team leader/nurse supervisor timely.
  • Management of materials, consumables in ER: Ensure that medical waste (including needles and other sharps, etc) is segregated according to MSF protocols. Contribute to the daily inventory and refilling of the drugs/materials in the department.    
  • Reporting: Ensure proper handing and taking over at the start and end of the shift regarding each patient and departmental equipment.
  • Self Service Assessment and Development: Taking part in and contributing towards training and internal evaluations and making an ongoing effort to maintain and update medical knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of education.
  • Medical technician (2 years) diploma.
  • Desirable experience in a hospital environment.
