| Job Description: |
Médecins Sans Frontières Peshawar Women's Hospital is recruiting Surgeons to join their pool of daily workers.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide back up support upon MSF request for gynaecologists in case of surgical complications relating to C-sections and other critical obstetrical emergencies, including (haemorrhage, hysterectomy, bladder injury, all kind of laceration, uterus rupture:
- Carry out emergency and programmed surgical intervention following MSF protocols and policies including swab counts, ensuring appropriate use of surgical equipment and proper OT registry entry/documentation of all OT interventions
- Fill up patient’s file with all surgical reports
- Collaborate with Anaesthetists, Operating Theatre Nurses and ward staff or other Unit Managers to ensure compliance with MSF protocols and rational use of medicines
- Know and help implement the accidental blood exposure policy
- Train supported gynaecologists during procedures
- Ability to reach MSF Women’s Hospital within 15 min after call
REQUIRED SKILLS AND CONDITIONS
- Essential: MRCS, FCPS, MS or equivalent recognized by PMDC
- Previous surgical experience as stated in surgical CV/skill form (number of independently performed surgical interventions) in obstetric surgery and qualification is duly certified and verified
- Desirable experience with MSF or other NGO’s in developing countries
- Fluent in English and Urdu
- Good clinical skills, Teamwork, Flexibility, Patience, Diplomatic communication, Commitment, Reporting skills, Stress management
